Zutano

Zutano is the common rootstock used for most of the other grafted varieties as it is known for it's excellent ability to take grafts, it's high vigour and better frost tolerance. It is considered to have high cold tolerance so can do well in marginal areas. The fruit has a shiny light green skin, and is more fibrous and watery than other varieties. It is a Type B flowering avocado and will grow into an large tree with upright habit.
