Yuzu

Yuzu is a Japanese citrus fruit — technically between a mandarin and lemon — prized for its extraordinary fragrant rind and uniquely complex sour flavour. Rarely eaten fresh; the juice and zest are used extensively in Japanese cuisine and are increasingly sought-after by NZ chefs and home cooks. Hardy for a citrus — can tolerate light frost once established. Self-fertile. Available from Flying Dragon Nursery NZ and specialist NZ citrus nurseries.
