Winesap

Winesap originated in the USA sometime before 1800 — a handsome heritage apple with a dark red flush and red stripes, producing sweet, juicy, crisp fruit with a distinctive wine-like aromatic quality that gives it its name. Requires a pollinator. An excellent keeper that stores well through winter. Good for both fresh eating and cider production. Late season. A genuine American heritage variety with over 200 years of documented history. Available at Wairere Nursery.
