William's bon Chretien
Williams Bon Chretien (also known as Bartlett Pear) is one of the most famous pear varieties in the world — large, long-necked, green-to-yellow fruit with rich, sweet, aromatic flesh ideal for fresh eating and bottling. The benchmark pear against which all others are measured. Best eaten when the skin just begins to yellow. Ripens mid-season. Fruit will drop if left too long. Partially self-fertile but benefits from a pollinator. Available at Wairere, Waimea and NZ nurseries nationwide.
