Walnut Lara (Juglans Regia Lara)

Walnut Lara is a French spur-bearing variety and slightly more compact than most walnuts, though it will still grow large. A deciduous, early-bearing variety producing excellent quality nuts with a unique creamy flavour. A grafted tree, producing crops earlier than seedling-grown walnuts. Requires excellent drainage — very sensitive to waterlogged soils. Cold and frost tolerant. Hardy. Self-fertile. Available from specialist NZ walnut nurseries.
