Tropicana

Tropicana is a NZ-discovered apple variety found growing in New Zealand by a fruit enthusiast. Produces large apples with dark red skin and sweet, mild, tropical-tinged flavour when fully ripe — the flesh is white but can be red-flushed or orange at peak ripeness. An interesting and distinctive NZ variety. Harvest timing has not been formally confirmed. Available from Koanga Institute.
