Totapuri

Totapuri is a large Indian mango variety with a distinctive elongated 'parrot beak' shape and green-yellow skin. Firm flesh with mild, sweet flavour and minimal fibre. Widely grown in South India. A versatile mango — good fresh eating when fully ripe, and popular for processing, drying and pickling when unripe. Productive and reliable. Mangoes require frost-free, sheltered conditions in NZ — viable in Northland, Auckland and Bay of Plenty. Available from Ben's Garden, Kaitaia.
