Torwick

Torwick is a late-season NZ plum — possibly a seedling of 'Ox-Heart' (itself a Burbank × Methley cross) — selected by a Mr. Torwick. Produces medium-sized, almost round fruit with an even, deep purple skin and firm, dark red, juicy flesh. Semi-clingstone. Ripens in March, with some fruit going into late March, making it one of the very latest plums to ripen in NZ — a genuine season-extender. Requires Santa Rosa as pollinator. A rare and interesting late-season heritage selection.
