Tiniroto Chestnut

Tiniroto Chestnut originates from Tiniroto (located between Gisborne and Wairoa in Tairāwhiti/East Coast NZ) — a locally selected variety from the extensive research plantation established there. Produces good quality chestnuts. Named for and selected from the Tiniroto district, making it a genuinely NZ-provenant chestnut selection. Cross-pollination with another Castanea variety is essential for reliable nut set. Large deciduous tree. Available from specialist NZ chestnut nurseries.
