Telstar has a rich flavour, similar to ‘Cox’s’, but with more sweetness and less acid. The fruit is small to medium and is sweet, aromatic, juicy and firm with a flattened shape. Originating in NZ in 1934 it's a hybrid between Golden Delicious and Kidds Orang Red.
