Takaka

Takaka is an exciting very early-season feijoa variety producing large fruit with a delicious rich, tropical flavour — one of the first feijoas of the season. Named for the Takaka/Golden Bay area of the Nelson region. An important variety for extending the feijoa harvest earlier than most other varieties. Good cropper. Partially self-fertile — benefits significantly from cross-pollination with another variety for heavier crops. Harvest from March. Growing to 3–4m. Available at specialist NZ feijoa nurseries.
