Sweetheart

Sweetheart is a late-season sweet cherry developed at the Agriculture Canada Research Station in Summerland, British Columbia, and awarded the Royal Horticultural Society Award of Garden Merit in 2014. It produces large, firm, bright red cherries with a juicy, sweet-tart flavour and excellent texture. One of its most valued traits is its hang time, as the fruit can remain on the tree longer than most varieties without softening, giving more flexibility at harvest. An upright growing, highly productive tree. Self-fertile, so a single tree will crop well, though yields improve with a companion variety nearby.
