Sunrise

Sunrise is one of the best early-season apple varieties in NZ — producing large fruit from around mid-January with yellow-green skin and striking red flushing. A welcome early arrival at the beginning of the apple season. Best eaten fresh off the tree at peak ripeness for maximum flavour. Requires a pollinator. Grows to 4–5m. An excellent choice for home gardeners wanting fresh apples from the turn of the year. Available at Wairere and specialist NZ nurseries.
