Summit

Summit produces very large, heart-shaped, premium sweet cherries with dark red skin and light red, juicy, sweet flesh — one of the larger-fruited cherry varieties. A popular commercial variety also well suited to the home garden where the impressive fruit size is particularly rewarding. Mid to late season. Requires a pollinator such as Lapins, Stella or Rainier. Best in cooler, drier NZ regions. Growing to 4–5m in a sunny, sheltered, well-drained position. Available at specialist NZ cherry nurseries.
