Springold

Springold is one of the earliest-ripening peaches in NZ — the first of the season — producing good-sized, flavoursome white-fleshed fruit that announces the start of summer stone fruit. When left to ripen fully on the tree before picking, the flavour is excellent. An important variety for home gardeners wanting fresh peaches as early as possible. Self-fertile. The early flowering means planting in a frost-sheltered position is important. Available at Wairere and specialist NZ stone fruit nurseries.
