Siroba Pistachio

The Siroba Pistachio is the female variety (to the Marshall). The pistachio is a decidious, desert plant so they like long hot summers but are quite hardy to frost and have high salinity tolerance so good for coastal areas too. They like dry feet so well drained soil is a must. Pollination requires male and female trees.

Pistachio's need around 7 months growing period, frost free for 200 days, with hot and dry weather into the autumn (similar to the olive). The flowering period usually occurs mid-late October and ideally should be frost free.
