Shiro

Shiro is widely considered one of the finest yellow plums available — a Japanese variety producing medium-sized, round fruit with attractive golden yellow skin and firm, juicy, sweet yellow flesh with a delicate pink blush. Hardy and prolific. An excellent dessert plum eaten fresh off the tree, and good for cooking, bottling and jam. Ripens January. Pollinate with Santa Rosa. A vigorous, reliable variety growing to 4m×3m. Available at Wairere and NZ nurseries nationwide.
