Reinette du Canada

Reinette du Canada is a triploid, heritage variety originating in France from around 1771. Ripening very late in the season, and storing exceptionally well makes it a good season extending apple. The dull green-gold skin is often russeted with prominent lenticels (spots) and a flattish lobed shape. The creamy white flesh is firm, juicy, and tart to sweet/tart with a spicy flavour. Well known as a superb dessert apple, it will cook to a stiff puree.
