Red Lady F1 (Papaya)

Red Lady F1 is the most proven papaya variety for NZ conditions — specifically selected for commercial growing and home gardens in NZ and used by commercial NZ growers. Produces medium-sized fruit with vivid orange-red flesh, sweet flavour and excellent eating quality (11–13% brix sugar). Fast growing — fruit in 12–18 months. Disease-resistant F1 hybrid. Self-pollinating. Grow in a greenhouse in cooler areas; outdoors in frost-free Northland and warmer spots. Fruit in November–December if planted in spring. Available from Ben's Garden, Kaitaia and Kotare Subtropicals.
