Red Dougherty

Red Dougherty is a New Zealand apple variety from 1930. It is a rare dark red apple that often has a maroon red flush to its flesh. These apples are medium sized with a mild sweet flavour, little acidity and firm flesh. Useful for fresh eating, juicing or making cider. It is late to very late season and being a good keeper it is known to store well.
