Ranui

Ranui is an NZ-bred hybrid berry — a cross between Auroraberry and Marionberry developed in the New Zealand berry breeding programme. It produces dark red, medium-sized, firm and very sweet berries of boysenberry shape and dark burgundy colour. A heavy cropper. Flavour is notably sweet and excellent when it crops well, making it highly valued despite being a spiny variety with occasionally variable yields depending on season and conditions. Self-fertile. Best grown in a warm, sunny position on a trellis or wires. Available at specialist NZ berry nurseries.
