Pounamu

Pounamu is an early-season feijoa variety named for its distinctive very dark green skin, resembling the colour of pounamu (greenstone). It produces medium-sized fruit with rich, smooth, highly aromatic flesh and excellent flavour. As an early variety, Pounamu begins the feijoa season ahead of most other cultivars, making it a useful choice for those wanting an extended harvest period from multiple varieties. Cross-pollination with another feijoa variety will improve fruit set and yield.
