Pomegranate Wonderful

The best known fruiting pomegranate variety, Wonderful produces large, deep purple-red fruit with deep crimson juicy flesh high in antioxidants, vitamin C, potassium and folic acid. Excellent for juicing and fresh eating. Vigorous and productive with stunning flowers. Pomegranates grow best in cold winters and long, hot, dry summers — fruit may not ripen if summer is too cool or too short. Hardy to -5°C but best suited to warmer NZ areas. Expect fruit from year 3. Fruit takes 5–7 months to ripen after bloom (February–April) and stores well — up to 7 months.
