Known as a Soledad, or Torrey Pinenut, the Pinus Torreyana is a large, broadly-crowned pine, tolerant of dry and coastal sites. It is considered very rare and endangered in it's origin country the USA, being the rarest pine in North America. It produces large, sweet, edible pine nut seeds that fall to the ground, and long silvery green needles. Both evergreen and hardy, it can make for an attractive, easy-care and edible tree.
