Pineapple

Pineapple Quince is a self-fertile variety with aromatic white flesh that hints at a taste of pineapple. Generally quinces are not eaten raw, though this variety is sometimes described as more suitable for fresh eating than its cousins — it is still usually better made into jellies and jams. Quince are high in vitamin C. Pineapple Quince is less commonly available in NZ but is widely grown overseas. Self-fertile. Available from specialist NZ nurseries.
