Peruque (Pecan Carya Peruque)

Peruque is a highly productive pecan variety (Carya pecan) producing thin-shelled pecans after 5 to 7 years from planting. Best planted with another pecan variety for cross-pollination, which significantly improves nut set. Pecans require a warm, long growing season — best suited to Northland, Bay of Plenty and other warm NZ regions. A large, long-lived deciduous tree. Once established, a productive and long-lasting addition to any home orchard or property. Available from specialist NZ nut nurseries.
