Perla

Perla is a cherimoya variety producing fruit with a lovely pineapple flavour note within the classic cherimoya custard-like flesh. The fruit is moderately seedy compared to some varieties. Cherimoya (Annona cherimola) is often described as the world's finest flavoured fruit — a tropical to subtropical tree producing heart-shaped fruit with smooth white flesh. In NZ, cherimoyas are effectively self-pollinating, though hand pollination improves yields. Available at Flying Dragon Nursery NZ and specialist nurseries.
