Orion is a small white-fleshed NZ heritage peach and the earliest fruiting heritage variety in the Koanga collection, ripening around January. An extremely heavy cropper. Sweetness varies with the season and growing conditions, but its reliability and very early harvest window make it valuable for home orchardists wanting fresh stone fruit from the turn of the year. On Marianna rootstock. Self-fertile. Ripe approximately January. Available from Koanga Institute.
