North Star (Sour)

North Star is a semi-dwarfing sour cherry variety, reaching around 2 to 3 metres, making it one of the more compact options for home gardens. It produces very firm, round, bright red cherries with dark red juice and a powerfully tart flavour ideal for cooking, pies and preserves. A reliable and consistent heavy cropper, North Star is self-fertile and shows good cold hardiness. Its semi-dwarf habit makes netting for bird protection easier than standard-sized cherry trees.
