The cultivar Mother dates back to 1844 and originates in the USA - it is also known as 'American Mother', It is an excellent all purpose, heritage apple. One for the connoisseur's garden, it comes highly recommended. Fruit has red blush skin with broken red stripes, flesh with a sweet perfumed and distinct flavour with notes of vanilla and pear.
