Mediterranean Block

Mediterranean Block is an NZ heritage peach variety producing medium-sized fruit with honey-coloured skin and red blush when ripe. White flesh, medium firm but very sweet with outstanding flavour. A reliable heavy cropper. May be a variation on the Batley peach. Gifted to the Koanga Collection by a member in the 1990s — its exact origins are uncertain, adding to its heritage intrigue. Self-fertile. Ripe mid February. Available from Koanga Institute as a seedling.
