Matakohe is an NZ heritage peacherine (peach-nectarine hybrid) with deep golden fruit, buttery texture, lovely flavour and exceptional sweetness. Great as a fresh dessert fruit and also excellent for drying. Ripe mid February. From Matakohe, Northland. Self-fertile. Available from Koanga Institute.
