Marimba (SH)

Marimba is a Southern Highbush Blueberry, and bred in Florida to be suitable for mild subtropical climates. A great low-chill choice for the warmer climates of NZ, it will suit most areas north of Waikato including Auckland / Northland. A highly productive variety with firm fruit full of flavour that ripen around December. Berries are smaller than Misty or O’Neal, similar to Jersey in size. Flowers are a little later than Misty, It will produce best with cross pollination of another Southern Highbush, Thrives in sun or part shade in rich acid soil. Like all Southern Highbush this variety is deciduous.
