Mapua (Boysenberry)

Mapua is a mostly spineless commercial selection of boysenberry with excellent flavoured large berries. The white, raspberry-like flowers are followed by the fruit that ripens to a deep burgundy colour with an excellent flavour. Requires a sunny, sheltered position where soils are suitably moist during the growing and fruiting season, fertile and free-draining. Prune out canes as required once fruiting has finished.
May grow to about 1.5m x 3m.
