Makrut (Kaffir)
The young tender leaves of this variety are popular for Asian cooking, although the bumpy skinned fruit is inedible. Protect trees from frosts. Also known as the Kaffir lime, although this term (Kaffir) has also been used as a racial slur so we prefer to use the name Makrut. The Makrut will fruit all year round under the right conditions, although main crop is likely to ripen during summer.
