Mac's Golden (White Sapote)

Mac's Golden is an excellent White Sapote (Casimiroa edulis) variety with distinctive deep yellow flesh and a rich, creamy flavour. Fruit are large and slightly more oval than the typical round shape of other varieties. Flesh has a custard-like texture eaten by scooping from the halved fruit. Tolerates brief frosts to -5.5°C once established; young trees need frost protection. Self-fertile. Grafted trees available from Flying Dragon Nursery NZ.
