Luke (White Sapote)

Luke is a White Sapote (Casimiroa edulis) variety with a mild, sweet flavour combining hints of peach, banana and pear, with smooth, custard-like texture. A small to medium-sized tree growing to 4m with a bushy, semi-weeping habit and rich green foliage. Self-fertile — unpollinated fruit forms but is smaller than pollinated fruit. Tolerates brief frosts to -5.5°C once established. Available from Flying Dragon Nursery NZ and Wairere Nursery.
