Laxton Tinker is a heritage black currant variety — consistently a heavy cropper bearing good-quality fruit with good resistance to disease. A reliable, proven performer for NZ home gardens. Self-fertile. Named for the Laxton Brothers nursery, the celebrated English fruit breeders who developed numerous heritage apple, pear and berry varieties throughout the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Deciduous bush to 1.5m. Available from specialist NZ berry nurseries.
