Laxton Red

Laxton Red is a heritage red currant variety producing very large crimson berries on a vigorous, reliably cropping bush. One of the larger-berried red currant varieties available. Red currants are tart and jewel-bright — excellent fresh, for jelly, cordial and summer pudding. Laxton Red's large berry size makes it particularly rewarding for picking and fresh use. Self-fertile. Deciduous. Hardy throughout NZ. Available at specialist NZ berry nurseries.
