Kakapo

Kakapo is a mid-season feijoa variety producing blocky to oval-shaped fruit with pale green skin and pleasant mild, sweet flavour. A slow-growing tree that requires little pruning — a practical advantage for lower-maintenance home gardens. Partially self-fertile — benefits from cross-pollination with another variety for heavier crops. Harvest April to May. Named for the iconic NZ bird. Available at specialist NZ feijoa nurseries.
