Jiro (Persimmon)
Jiro is a non-astringent persimmon producing large, flat, tomato-shaped, deep orange fruit with a sweet, crisp flavour. Keeps relatively well. An attractive ornamental tree with a vigorous and spreading habit — its glossy green leaves turn into lovely autumn colours. Cold hardy. May be difficult to source due to discontinuation at some nurseries. Self-fertile. Plant in a sunny, well-drained position.
