Izu (Persimmon)

Izu is a non-astringent persimmon variety — meaning it can be eaten firm, straight from the tree like an apple, without any need to wait for the fruit to soften. Medium to large, flat fruit with deep orange skin. Sweet, mild flavour. A genuinely easy-to-eat persimmon that removes the confusion around picking and eating time. Self-fertile. Available at Wairere Nursery.
