GT201 (Macadamia)

GT201 is a NZ macadamia selection chosen by Gordon Titirangi — specifically selected for its role as a cross-pollinator for Beaumont. Produces good quality nuts on an attractive evergreen tree with racemes of white flowers in summer. An early-harvesting variety in NZ, with nuts ready April to May — earlier than Beaumont which is harvested from August. Grows to approximately 6m×4m in 7–10 years. Starts producing 4–5 years after planting. Cross-pollinate with Beaumont or Maroochy for best results. Requires a warm, sheltered, frost-free position with fertile, moist, free-draining soil. Important: macadamias are toxic to dogs.
