Grosse Grüne

Grosse Grüne is a heritage German greengage plum — the name means 'large green' in German, though the fruit is small to medium in practice. Also known as Rever Hardy Greengage. Produces early season, translucent green fruit with sweet, rich flavour characteristic of the greengage family. An uncommon heritage variety in NZ, valued by collectors of heritage European plums. Self-fertile. A good pollinator for other European plum types. Available from specialist NZ heritage nurseries.
