Goldfinger

Goldfinger is a Honduran hybrid banana developed specifically for its disease resistance and cold tolerance, making it one of the better banana choices for New Zealand home gardens. It grows to 3 to 4 metres with distinctive black stems and broad, sometimes wavy leaves. The fruit is small with thin skin and an intense sweetness with a slightly tangy edge, often described as having hints of lime or pineapple that makes it more complex than supermarket Cavendish. Excellent disease resistance including tolerance to Panama disease. Plant in a warm, sheltered, sunny position.
