Golden Orb

Golden Orb is a loquat variety selected for its tasty fruit and ornamental value, producing sweet, easy-to-peel fruit with golden-orange skin and yellow flesh that ripens in early summer with an apricot-like flavour. A coastal-hardy evergreen tree, Golden Orb is well suited to larger containers as well as garden planting, and is self-fertile so a single tree will produce fruit. Fragrant white flowers appear in winter and are followed by the distinctive golden fruit in summer. The tree is very attractive in a garden setting with its large, dark green leathery leaves, and it is worth noting it may take three to four years to begin producing fruit.
