Gloria de Versailles

Gloria de Versailles is a heritage French red currant variety — vigorous and upright with good-sized trusses of large, high-quality red fruit. The large berry size and reliable heavy crops make it one of the more productive red currants for NZ home gardens. Fruit can be used fresh when fully ripe (sweet and jewel-bright), or for excellent jelly, cordial and summer puddings. Self-fertile. Deciduous bush to 1.5m. Available at Wairere, Southern Woods and specialist NZ berry nurseries.
