Giant of Gascony

Giant of Gascony is a heritage French quince variety that lives up to its name — producing very large fruit with golden skin and spicy, aromatic flavour. One of the largest-fruited quinces available. The enormous fruit size makes it particularly striking on the tree and productive for cooking, jelly and membrillo. Quinces are never eaten raw — they must be cooked, when they turn a beautiful deep rose-pink. Self-fertile. Late season. Available at specialist NZ nurseries.
