Giant Geniton

Giant Geniton is an outstanding NZ heritage apple variety with green skin similar to Granny Smith but with reddish striping when ripe. Sweet-tart, crunchy dessert apple from April onwards, and also excellent for cooking. Reliable heavy cropper. This is a genuinely exceptional apple that came to NZ with the Dalmatian gumdiggers. From Phil Evans of Kohukohu, Hokianga, 1987, and also from Cloon Eavin, Pahi — considered one of the very best apples in the North. Available from Koanga Institute.
