Fitzroy is an apricot variety bred in Taranaki, NZ, producing consistent crops of medium-sized, golden, sweet and juicy fruit. Self-fertile and a reliable, later-ripening variety — one of the later apricots — extending the fresh harvest into February. A locally developed selection that performs consistently well across NZ conditions. Planting different varieties extends the eating season from December to February. Deciduous, growing to 5m×3m.
